Partnership Between Education and Practice-Dual Role

Jaya Bijoy

Abstract

The nursing profession is trying to keep pace with the rapidly growing medical and technical achievements of the modern age. Over the last century, nursing education has moved from hospital-based school to college and universities. This trend plays an important role in establishing nursing as a profession, but on the other hand it weakened the relationship between education and practice. It is the sheer need to bridge the gap between graduation and employment and to find an effective method to ease graduate with varied educational backgrounds into the nursing for which they have been prepared.
